Triangular Handwoven Scarves by Mary Jarrett
Triangular Handwoven Scarves by Lenoir artist Mary Jarrett. Mary created a unique scarf design that allows the wearer to don a soft, comfortable scarf without the need to tie it in the back--it already comes connected, almost like an infinity scarf! Just pop it over your head and drape the front triangle however you like it (we think it looks great with a gentle cowl at the top!). $40 each.
Signature Mugs by Barbara Ballesty
These mugs are by Barbara Ballesty, a ceramicist whose work we are proud to carry in our gift shop and have featured here before. Featured here are her gorgeous signature mugs—perfect for welcoming Autumn with a cozy beverage (as always, we recommend our Daingerfield Blend light roast). The rustic bark texture and earthy tones of the glaze would suit any High Country kitchen! Heights vary.
Rub the bar against the top ridge of these little frog guiros to replicated a fun hollow bullfrog croak sound.
Artwork in Progress sketchbooks
No self-respecting art museum gift shop would be complete without a good sketchbook, wouldn't you agree? We finally found one that meets BRAHM's stringent standards of quality. Deemed perfectly sketchworthy, these Artwork in Progress sketchbooks by LA-based design studio Poketo eagerly await your scribbles and musings! Featuring debossed letters on the sturdy chipboard cover, linen-sewn binding that lies flat (truly essential!), and a handy section of gridded pages towards the back of the book for doodles of a geometric nature. Smooth as butter, eco-friendly tree-free paper! Size: A5.
Color-able Travel Mugs
Check out these brand new, adorable, color-able mugs! The coloring bug has hit society by storm this year--seriously, adult coloring books are everywhere--and these mugs are so delightfully on trend. We've got 'em in four different patterns to choose from, and we also carry the oil-based ceramic markers you'll need to create your masterpiece. For kids and adults alike! Each travel mug comes with a silicone lid. The accompanying set of 12 dual-tipped markers for ceramic and glass is $15. In our ultra-professional opinion, these vessels work best when filled with our signature Daingerfield Blend, and add some much-needed creative flair to your daily caffeination ritual.
Handwoven Rugs by Susan Sharpe
Overlooking a quiet mountain stream where red-winged blackbirds nest, Susan Sharpe's Redwing Studio is a creative venue for fiber art and art instruction located in northwestern NC. For more than 30 years, Susan has created original artwork here, and we are featuring three of her beautiful, cozy, handwoven rugs. We also carry several more of her pieces in a multitude of classic colors.
Although BRAHM is not currently seeking artists for the Museum's gift shop, information about our requirements, selection process, and our artists' agreement can be reviewed below:
BRAHM reopened its gift shop in 2017 and in doing so seeks to expand the presence of local artisans and artists. Artists interested in being considered for the shop should deliver 3-5 samples of their work to the museum for consideration. Artists should include a brief bio about themselves and the retail price of the items being submitted. Selected artists will be included in the shop on a consignment basis.
